WALK 2: CILIBION TO PARKMILL VIA PARK WOODS

Distance: Approximately 2.5 miles; 4 kilometres.
Terrain: Easy, mostly level footpath and tarmac surfaced minor roads
Start: Cilibion bus stop; map reference 516914
Bus there: Gower Explorer Service 118 from Swansea City Centre, frequency three times per day (10.10, 12.10 or 14.10), Mondays to Saturdays; no service Sundays and Bank Holidays
Walk: Leave the bus stop and walk a few metres back to the cattle grid at the road junction. Turn right and follow a farm track for a short distance until it becomes a footpath. This takes you through Decoy Wood and into the extensive Park Woods where it is joined by other footpaths. Follow this path in a south easterly direction through Green Cwm stopping to observe the old limestone smelting kilns on your left. The footpath becomes a tarmac road; follow this down a narrowing valley until you get to a ford on the left. This is adjacent to Gower Heritage Centre; from here it is a short walk to Parkmill Shepherd’s bus stop.

Facilities: Refreshments can be obtained at Shepherd’s store near the bus stop. There are toilets at Gower Heritage Centre
Bus back: Gower Explorer Service 117 or 118 to Swansea City Centre, approximately every hour daytime, Mondays to Saturdays, 4-5 times a day Sundays and Bank Holidays
