WALK 3: PARKMILL VIA THREE CLIFFS BAY AND COASTAL PATH TO PENNARD

Distance: Approximately 2.5 miles; 4 kilometres
Terrain: Moderate, with some steep sections between Three Cliffs Bay and Pennard Cliffs
Start: Parkmill, Gower Inn; map reference 551892
Bus there: Gower Explorer 118 from Swansea City Centre, frequency mostly every hour daytime, Mondays to Saturdays; four times per day on Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays
Walk: Immediately beyond the bus stop, the footpath starts to the left crossing a small stream then parallel to it for 3/8 mile, (0.5 kilometres).
Opposite Parkmill Shepherd’s the path runs slightly uphill before turning south over sand dunes to Three Cliffs Bay (you will see the remains of Pennard Castle to your left on this section). At Three Cliffs, turn east into Pobbles Bay and ascend to the cliff tops on a fairly steep path which becomes a tarmac surfaced road at West Cliff. This will take you to the Pennard Cliffs bus stop.

Facilities: The Three Cliffs Coffee Shop is next to the bus stop; there are also toilets adjacent
Bus back: First Cymru Service 14 to Swansea City Centre, every hour daytime, Mondays to Saturdays, Gower Explorer Service 114 to Swansea City Centre, five times a day Sundays and Bank Holidays
Tickets: Note that separate tickets are needed for Gower Explorer and First Cymru services; on Sundays, the Gower Day Explorer will be valid for both routes; holders of bus passes can travel free!
