The Beacons Bus linking Neath with the Brecon Beacons on Sundays and Bank Holidays starts May2012.
The X63 bus, running several times a day, is an excellent link to some key National Park attractions (Henrhyd Waterfall at Coelbren, Craig y Nos Country Park, Dan yr Ogof Showcaves) and Brecon.
Tickets: The Powys Day Rover ticket is valid on X63 and connecting services from Brecon.

Neath to the Heart of Wales by Train
One
of Wales most outstanding train journeys is the 121 mile link through
the scenic heart of Wales between Swansea and Shrewsbury. En route,
there are lots of interesting places to visit; Llandeilo, Llandovery, Llanwrtyd Wells, Llandrindod Wells and Knighton, all can be visited there and back in a day (with live music the first Sunday each month). The morning train on weekdays is through from Neath; otherwise change trains at Swansea.
