TEN EASY BUS BASED WALKS TO ENJOY IN GOWER AND THE MAWR AREA IN THE CITY & COUNTY OF SWANSEA
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
There’s
no nicer way of enjoying Gower, the Mawr or even parts of historic
Swansea than on foot, with plenty of time to see all that is around you
in terms of natural beauty or local history. Most of the walks suggested
here are easy strolls, and will take between one and two hours between
the suggested bus stops at a gentle pace. So give yourself plenty of
time to look around when you arrive and to enjoy some well earned
refreshment before your return bus and a relaxing ride home.
For
all these walks you need strong shoes or trainers – many paths can be
muddy after rain – and you should carry rainwear, a spare sweater and
something to drink. A light rucksack or shoulder bag keeps your hands
free – and take a camera for that pretty view or to capture that
fleeting moment of passing wildlife.
Have one of the large scale
Ordnance Maps with you (the orange Explorer Map of Gower is especially
recommended) which will make pathfinding easy, and might even tempt you
to extend your walk.
Check your outward and bus times before you
travel either on the web site links shown in the text, or by phoning
Traveline Cymru on 0871 200 22 33 or text 84268.
