WALK 6: LLANMADOC TO LLANGENNITH VIA LLANMADOC HILL


 

A short but attractive walk that links two pretty Gower villages with refreshment facilities at both ends and good views throughout.

Distance: Approximately 1½ miles; 2.25 kilometres

Terrain: Hilly, steep in places

Start: Llanmadoc bus terminus; map reference 440933

Bus there: Gower Explorer 115 or 116 from Swansea City Centre, approximately every two hours daytime, Mondays to Saturdays; no service Sundays and Bank Holidays.



Walk: Alight at the Llanmadoc terminus stop and initially take the minor road to the left for 100 yards/90 metres; here you will find a welcome surprise, a community shop which serves tea, coffee and snacks. Continue from here bearing right and follow a well way marked footpath to the crest of Llanmadoc Hill. You are presented with a choice of three footpath permutations, all well way marked to take you into Llangennith village, where your walk ends at the King’s Head Hotel.

Facilities: The community shop at Llanmadoc has a small coffee shop where you can buy refreshments for the walk. The King’s Head at Llangennith serves drinks and bar meals
